I really hate politics If politics, both national and local, didn't have such a strong effect on our day to day lives, not only in financial matters but in our social interactions, I wouldn't bother to pay more than a cursory attention to it at all. And, of course, there in lies the greatest problem of any political matters, general apathy. No one really wants to listen to politicians meander on about things of which they have little actual knowledge and no personal interests but we have to base our decisions for whom our leaders will by trying to cut through the BS, lies, and pandering offered to us by those who would lead us.
The last debate between BO and JM is a case in point. Bo is a very good speaker but a weak, inexperienced, socialist minded, black power advocate, Muslim leaning, anti-American panderer who several times outlined socialistic programs requiring the relinquishment of our monies and freedoms. BO is also the pro-abortion nominee of the Democratic Party, and has plans to reward the allies that helped him by making total unrestricted abortion in the United States his number one priority as president. "The first thing I'd do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act (an unrestricted abortion advocacy law)," Obama said in his July speech to abortion advocates worried about the increase of pro-life legislation at the state level.
Neither his opponent, JM, nor the national press, nor, apparently, the average man on the street is willing to call him a socialist. And then, JM, a man who fought communists and was imprisoned and tortured by them, also outlined programs of a socialist nature and not even the staunchest of political conservatives would point out the lack of Constitutional support nor the socialist/Marxist nature of any of neither candidate’s proposals (nor the $7.5 Billion bailout). It is very disheartening.
There are many reasons to vote against either Presidential candidate. BO’s major qualification is that he was a community organizer, state and now federal senator, working with and receiving monies from several disreputable entities. ACORN is one of those organizations. Now, in Ohio, a state Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) lawsuit was filed against the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). The lawsuit alleges ACORN has engaged in a pattern of corrupt activity that amounts to organized crime. It seeks ACORN's dissolution as a legal entity, the revocation of any licenses in Ohio, and an injunction against fraudulent voter registration and other illegal activities. Why? ACORN registered many voters, some illegal and some illegally, and has been doing so for many years. Even the FBI is getting into the act. BO had to know of these activities. He was part of them.
In addition, a lawsuit has been filed with the Pennsylvania Eastern District Court alleging BO is not a natural born citizen of the USA and requiring Mr. Obama to produce documents to prove he is actually constitutionally qualified to run for President. So far Mr. Obama has refused to produce the documents and is trying to fight the court order to produce those documents. McCain released to the press all the documents concerning his birth and health. Any American should be able to prove citizenship in less than a day. All it takes is a valid birth certificate. Why can't Mr. Obama?
It seems to me that Political Correctness has so overwhelmed the nation that our society is willing to overlook any personal defect in order to elect a black person to the Presidency. Neither Color nor Gender should affect anyone’s decision but publicly broadcasted interview after interview with all sorts of people in many different places testify to our unwillingness to be labeled “racist” having more effect upon our political decisions than any thing else. In Harlem (and elsewhere) voters were questioned as to whom they preferred and even when John McCain’s policies (and VP choice) were attributed to BO, the interviewed ascertained they would vote for BO. Some people even said they disagreed with the outlined policies of BO but they intend to vote for him anyway. Our national media corp. has been prostituting themselves over BO every since he announced his candidacy by fawning over his every pronouncement and denigrating anything his opponents say or do. Even the vaunted Hillary lost her liberal base.
During the debates, the socialist BO repeatedly accused the maverick, JM, of being a continuation of Geo. Bush in all his policies. I never heard the press correct or even question any of those allegations but, factually, that isn’t a bad place to be financially. Until the Democrats took control of Congress in 2006 (due to an unpopular war), consumer confidence was at an all time high, regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon (which was considered too high even then), the unemployment rate was a mere 4.5%, and the Dow Jones hit a record high of 14,000+.
Since the policies of our Socialist Democrats have come home to roost, Americans have seen their home equities drop by some $12 Trillion and still dropping. Another $2.5 Trillion evaporated from our stock, bonds, and mutual fund investments. We were forced into an illegal $7.5 Billion bailout of financial institutions led by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac which had been forced by democrat policies to lend monies to people based upon their color and national origins (Oh yes, many illegal immigrants are involved), location of their housing, etc.
And I certainly do fault GW Bush for his lack of effort to combat or change errant policies put into place by his predecessor, the impeached William Jefferson (Blythe) Clinton, who required regulators to overlook inadequacies and force lenders to give unsecured loans to many very unqualified defaulting borrowers. Simply put, W’s failure to see and act to correct the failures of the previous administration led to our present mini-depression. I see W’s failures as a form of political correctness. He wanted reach across the isle to Socialists who hate him because he isn’t one of them and didn’t want to be seen as the President who acted against what the Press would report as minorities’ interests. So he fiddled while the USA floundered.
However, John McCain several times tried to get some sort of correction to what he saw as “inadequacies” in our lending policies and the sales of our political processes. He oft times opposed W and even agreed with the Dems in some areas. I fault JM for not opposing the Dems more often instead of Bush. I fault the media for not reporting the truth about either candidate. The US public should not be forced to the internet to find our own information which is too often counter to what is being told us by the major media. It is disgusting and points to the general dishonesty of the media.
Of course, most media types see themselves as “liberals” but no longer associate “liberality” with Socialism or the tenets of Marxism. In other words, they are willing dupes.
I grew up in the 50’s to 70’s. Frankly, the 60s and 70s ushered in a new morality that accepted many Socialist tenets and rejected sexual purity. However, there is growing evidence that an even more significant shift in moral attitudes is taking place right now.
“A study by the Barna Group confirms what I have been seeing among young people. Put simply, the younger you are the more likely you are to have engaged in immoral behavior. The survey looks at the behavior of four age groups. Elders are those over the age of 62. Boomers are 44 to 62 years of age. Busters are 25-43, and Mosaics are 18-24. If you look at any immoral or questionable behavior, the percentage of those participating in those behaviors increases as you move from old to young.” Kerby Anderson
The youngest group (the Mosaics) is more than twice as likely to engage in morally inappropriate behavior including watching pornography, using profanity in public, gambling, illicit sexual encounters, and getting drunk. Exactly these sorts of dysfunctional behaviors were preached by our former Communist (Socialist) foes during the cold war. As the Socialists took over our school systems, we failed to notice. Now, our children have little or no exposure to neither traditional moral codes nor teaching. In its place, we have “Political Correctness” being defined by our new liberals, the Socialist Democrats, who own power in every level of government and society.
When we baby boomers rejected traditional morality in the 60s and 70s, we did it consciously. We knew we were crossing a line because we had the experience of seeing traditional morality displayed daily; no longer. When the current generation engages in these behaviors, they are not even aware they are crossing a line since they don't even know where those lines of traditional morality are. Instead, we have Political Correctness and it has spoiled everything for us, politics and society as well.
